Environment variables in Power Apps / Dynamics 365

There are many chances where you are working on Dynamics App and want to store some configuration, which can further be used across modules using (Plugin, API, JS, etc.). In older days we would think of managing using custom entities, plugin configuration, or hard coding these details.

Now there is an easier way to do it using Environment Variable.

The environment variable is as configurable input parameters allows you to manage data separately compared to hard coding values. These variables are easy to handle because these are solution components (performance can be better than importing configuration data as entity records).
